You can discuss the idea in Slack but collaborate around the code in GitHub. There's no way to directly comment on code, though, so the best bet might actually to save your code as a GitHub Gist, then share that into Slack. Select the code language if Slack doesn’t auto-select the correct one, then click Create snippet and Slack will share your code with your team into the Slack channel where you were when you clicked the paperclip icon. Paste your code in the Content box of the popover that opens, or type your new code there. Click the paperclip icon in your Slack chat box, hover over Create New… then select Code or Text Snippet. For that, the better option is to add a code snippet, essentially a new code file that’s shared to Slack with syntax highlighting. You can edit some shortcuts from this menu as well. To access these, click on your Workspace Name (top of the left sidebar), then Preferences. That works great for short code snippets, not quite as great for multiple lines of text. Edit (message already sent) E There are a lot of settings you can personalize via the Slack menu from Notifications, Audio & Video, to Themes, and more. Or, select the text, and either press the keyboard shortcut Cmd/ Ctrl+ Shift+ C or click the button to format the selected text as code. Thanks in advance for any feedback or thoughts on that. The quick way to add a bit of code in your Slack conversation is to add a backtick before and after your code, like `this`. The tips and tricks in this post help you save time, do more, and stay on top of your to-do list. However, I'm also considering that if someone neglects to answer in a thread, their reply will not be in the side convo which would defeat the purpose if we have to go check Slack to see if everyone is doing it right :) Let’s talk about how to use Slack to its fullest extent to stay productive. chat.postMessage and chat.postEphemeral methods in the Web API. Heres a list of the methods you can use to publish messages with blocks: Incoming webhooks. I don't see how Zendesk would know it was part of the side convo if it was not in a thread, since the next message in the channel could be about.anything. There are multiple ways for apps to send messages, and you can use Block Kit with most of them. This will bring up a dialog which you can type out your code or paste into directly. To use this code type, you will need to click the + on the left side of where you type in your message. After those messages drop from view in Slack, are they still visible in the ticket side conversation? Most of the time we aren't going to care 3-6 months later, but there may be some cases where the side conversation from Slack would still be relevant and important to see.Ģ) Do side conversations work with threads and only with threads? I'm picturing starting a side convo, then someone replies in the same channel, but NOT in a thread. For the times when you need syntax highlighting, you will want to use Slack’s built in code or text snippet option. I have two questions to which I'm not finding an answer:ġ) We are using Slack free version, where old messages drop off after reaching the 10K limit. The conversation can continue back and forth, as long as necessary, until you get the information you need. The Slack replies are automatically included in the ticket’s side conversation. The team in the Slack channel can view your message and reply to the thread directly, without logging into Support.

Ableton have included a couple of midi plugins so you can dive deeper into how the MPE messages affect the parameters chosen. Ableton has made a statement to the importance of MPE with the addition of MPE control for native synths within the software – so you can control several elements of Wavetable, sampler, simpler and arpeggiator with one touch on your MPE controller. The potential for expressivity is too great. This is a very burgeoning advancement in performance expression, and it’s only really at the beginning stages of mass adoption. The list of tools is finally starting to pick up pace in its growth, as are the software applications that support this protocol. Current tools that use MPE are, for example, the ROLI seaboard, the Linnstrument, the Madrona Labs Soundplane, Sensel Morph and so on. MPE enables you to control pressure, slide, and pitchblende PER NOTE – which poly aftertouch cannot do. It’s a method of synthesis that uses multidimensional control from touch – a big step from pressing keys and buttons. MPE – or midi polyphonic expression is an evolution of synth control. I also like how you can also comp midi tracks – so I can just jam over the session loop, and go back over it later to decide what works best. There’s also a cool little drop menu that enables crossfading between selections if you want, so there isn’t incessant clicks and pops. Being able to flick between several different loops to create an entirely new loop is very very quick, and very inspiring. What I actually love about these new elements, is that in typical Ableton fashion, it’s very easy to use the comping tool for non-mix, and more creative methods, which is awesome. I still don’t think it’s at the same level as other DAWs in terms of tools for mixing. Linked with this (pun intended of course) the Linked tracks update means you can lock tracks together to edit phase-locked audio – useful for drum edits for example. The lack of this is one of the missing elements that has definitely put me off mixing any big projects in Live. This is the big one for me, but perhaps not for the expected reason. I’ll just address the ones that I feel improved my creativity and efficiency as I’ve worked with Ableton Live 11 over the last few weeks. The list is too large to go over in detail in this article. There’s a large list of new additions and upgrades to Ableton Live 11 – including workflow updates, and new tools. Has this changed with the big update to 11? Is this the point where I can finish the mix in the same place, without having to change DAWs? I’ve had the update to 11 for a few weeks now, and had the chance to really dive in and experience the new tools for myself. Typically, if I’m writing electronic-style music, I’ll start in Ableton, and I’ll head over to Logic to mix and finish the track. I consider Live as more of an instrument combined with DAW – somewhere that the process of recording is creatively applied to shape the music more directly and strongly. Enjoy your free upgrade, as it gives plenty for the price of nothing at all. When I think of Ableton Live, it inhabits a different space in my mind to the more ‘standard’ DAWs for recording, arranging and mixing music. It runs on Apple M1 computers only through Rosetta for the time being. Live 11 Lite is 64-bit only and requires macOS 10.13 or later / Windows 11 or later. With Tempo Following, Live listens to and adjusts its tempo, based on incoming audio from another musician or other gear, like drum machines in real time.
He threw pieces of cinnamon bun onto the pavement and "voila" they came running out of the foilage for a feed. Apparently the mongoose was introduced to Maui to kill mice and rats but nobody had put it together that mongooses are daytime creatures, whereas rats and mice come out at night, so the idea didn't work. John entertained us by conjuring up some mongooses, as he had earlier promised he would do. It is also a camping area and there are cabins you can rent. We started off to explore the caves, however we got caught in a torrential downpour so we hurried quickly back to the bus. The views here are amazing and there is a black sand beach, ocean caves, easy walking trails, fresh water pools and a blowhole. John has a great sense of humor and betweeen watching the breathtaking scenery and listening to his funny stories, before we knew it we were approaching Hana. We turned off just before the village and went into Waianapanapa State Park. Waianapanapa means "glistening water" in Hawaiian and has much to offer. Shark's Tooth Bay had huge waves that crashed into the rocks, and as we looked out to the ocean we could see the cliff that Steve McQueen jumped off in the movie Papillon, which was partly filmed on Maui. We stopped at the interesting village of Keana'e where there was a school, formerly a prison built to house the prisoners who originally worked on the road to Hana. I know because we never crashed into anyone. Speaking of the 52 one lane bridges, they have a reciprocal yeilding system for taking turns that seems to work very well. We saw proof of this later, at one of the 52 one lane bridges that had recently been restored. As part of the Millenium Legacy a monument was made out of rocks collected from every community along the way, and the communities names were inscribed into the rock. John also told us that in the year 2000, President Clinton declared the road to Hana a Millenium Legacy Trail, which means that any repairs or restoration, have to be as originally built. Eventually this became a popular horse riding trail. Fascinating to me was seeing the remains of an ancient 4' wide foot path that used to circle all of Maui, along the shoreline. In those days the wheel hadn't yet been invented, so there were no wheelbarrows or carts. John was like a "driving/talking" encyclopedia as he shared historic tid bits and pointed out various interesting landmarks and vegetation that we would otherwise have missed. This is one of the few shrines not located in a separate area and is, instead, out in the open in the Burrwitch Estates area. To repair this shrine you need to spend two aether crystals. Location: The Burial Cave in Burrwitch OutskirtsĪfter leaving the Flooded Passage and reaching Burrwitch Outskirts, this shrine is found inside the Burial Cave that has two entrances. The shrine is located at the north end by the exit and is reconsecrated by defeating a wave of aetherials. Near the bridge that leads to Wightmire proper is an underground passage. The shrine is near the northern entrance, and reconsecrating it requires defeating an easy wave of slith enemies. In the Foggy Bank area (while traveling north from Devil's Crossing to Burrwitch), you will come across a cavern with two entrances. Repair the shrine with an aether crystal (in Elite mode, you need 3 aether crystals instead).Īfter defeating Viloth The Corrupter (found by going underneath Devil's Crossing to the Aquifer) this shrine is found on the far east side of the map and is repaired using an aether crystal. After killing Kyzogg in the Burial Hill, head up the bottom, center path on the map to find the shrine at a dead end. This first shrine should be easy to spot, as its in an area with the first quest boss, Kyzogg The Reanimator. Some of these shrines are not available in the Elite or Ultimate difficulty settings, making those settings harder to defeat as you will have fewer devotion points to spend.īefore hunting down the shrines in the first and second acts, you may also want to take a gander at our complete class masteries guide to decide which dual class combination you want to try out in this dark action RPG! Grim Dawn Act 1 Shrines Shrine 1 Note that the list below assumes you are playing Grim Dawn on the normal difficulty setting. Now where to put all those extra devotion points.? Yes it is more realistic map design than D2 or PoE,but gameplay wise it just feels wrong imo. These shrines are typically restored in one of two ways: either by sacrificing rare items like aether stones, or by summoning a wave of enemies that must be defeated. But while playing the game I find myself thinking "let me get to the good part, fighting tons of monsters and shit" constantly, while trying to uncover the whole map of an area. Its sad, because I really love the combat and the depth this game offers. It takes ages to complete a playthrough, because areas just feel so bloated. The pacing just seems off, which was the same issue titan quest had. It feels like areas like "blood grove" or "gloomwald" are like 150% the size that they should be,so that it doesnt get frustrating running through it. On top of that the mob density is kinda low on some of the wider areas, which means you run around in a pretty empty area and try to cover as much ground as possible so that you dont miss anything important. Yes there are secret areas, but having to constantly go back and forth when entering an area that I dont know all the secrets yet is just frustrating. They are sooo open and unnecessarily convoluted in my opinion, that exploring them becomes such a chore. However after playing a lot of Diablo 2 over the last few years, I just get frustrated playing Grim Dawn when it comes to exploring the maps. After not playing Grim dawn for a few years and now coming back to it,to try out the expansions I noticed how much I dislike the map design of this game.įirst of all I have 300 hours in Titan Quest and 150 hours in grim dawn (without the expansions),so I can atleast say I am very familiar with those games. |
